Welcome to the Colorado School of Mines cycling club page!

CSM Cycling is the official cycling team of the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. We are a coed club sport that races competitively in races all over the mid-west. Our team consists of about 70 members with around 35 active racers, both men and women, that race in all disciplines of cycling from the beginner to the professional level. The primary goals of the team are to introduce new riders to the sport of cycling, field successful racing teams, and, above all, have fun.

Oredigger Classic Timeline

Hill Climb: Saturday Morning 14th March 2015

The entire racecourse will follow Lariat Loop Road. Racers will start at the large pillars near the base of Lookout Mountain, climb to the top of the mountain, and finish approximately 300 feet before the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum and Grace intersection. Racers will be competing individually, and start times will be one minute apart. The race will be approximately 7am – 3pm.

Street Sprints: Saturday Evening 14th March 2015

The start will be located on Illinois St. near the intersection with 13th St. by Volk Gymnasium. Racers would ride south on Illinois St. for one quarter miles finishing in front of Guggenheim on Illinois St. The race will be approximately 3pm – 6:30pm.

Criterium: Sunday 15th March 2015

The course will use Elm St between W Campus Rd and 18th St, as well as the section of W Campus Rd that loops back to connect to Elm St again. The race will be run clockwise: races will start and finish near the entrance to the CSM student recreation center. The race will be approximately 6am – 5:30pm. The “D” Parking Lot will be closed for the duration of the race.

Street Sprints and Criterium: March 14th and March 15th 2015

The safety of our competitors is paramount, and for this reason Sunday’s course at CSM will be restricted to traffic during the intervals of competition. We will have marshals stationed at each corner and intersection as needed. The marshals will allow cars to enter only when racers have safely passed, and drivers will be asked to only travel in the direction of the race. Intersections that will be closed are clearly marked on the attached course map. Parking will not be allowed on the racecourse. Residents will still be allowed access houses along the course in between racing categories in order to minimize any inconvenience to them. Emergency vehicles will have full access to the course at all times.

Additional race details will be updated here.

The CSM Cycling Team has grown into a perennial powerhouse in collegiate cycling since its rebirth in 2005. Highlights have included the 2007 Mountain Bike Team Omnium National title, 7 individual national titles, 8 team podium appearances at national championships, and 28 individual podium appearances at national championships.

We're always looking to recruit new talent and provide members with the opportunity to compete in both mountain bike and road disciplines. We hope to see you out on the road or trail!“
